Details
"Gesteckpfeifen" or "Hunter's pipes" are a traditional style of pipes first used among hunters in the Alps region. In 1936, Dunhill made a rendition of this style of pipe, and today they have recreated that pipe from 1936 in this extremely limited collector's edition of only 10 pipes worldwide.
The Alpine pipe consists of four major parts: a bowl and Y-shaped connection piece, both hand-made from briar, and a long stem and turned mouthpiece, both hand-cut from vulcanite rods. When assembled the pipe stands over 30 cm / 12 inches high. County finish.
The Alpine pipe comes in a special leather "Ventage" case, the name being a combination of vintage and ventilation. Invented and patented by Alfred Dunhill in 1919, it features a ventilation system that allows the pipe to dry even when the case is closed.
County finish.
