S.T. Dupont Abstraction(s) - 2000
Western art had been, from the Renaissance up to the middle of the 19th century, underpinned by the logic of perspective and an attempt to reproduce an illusion of visible reality. Conversely, Abstract Art uses a visual language of form, colour and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references to the world. S.T. Dupont pays homage to Abstract Art, creating a unique collection which is inspired by the principles of abstraction. Precise lines, geometrically defined forms, a shiny surface and blocks of red and black Chinese lacquer. S.T. Dupont Abstraction(s) Limited Edition is made up of two Ligne 2 lighters (red and black), two urban lighters (red and black), one Gatsby lighter, one Ligne 1 lighter, a fountain pen and a ball pen. Each lighter is numbered out of 2500, each pen is numbered out of 2000. |
