S.T. Dupont Picasso - 1998
Pablo Picasso has been one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century. He is widely known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop.
Probably not everyone is aware that in the 60's he engraved three S.T. Dupont lighters as a gift to his son, his daughter-in-law and a friend. On one of these lighters, the one for his friend, he engraved a faun; a figure often represented by Picasso and considered a form of self portrait.
Almost forty years later, S.T. Dupont pays homage to this great artist, recreating the "faun" lighter in a limited collection.
S.T. Dupont Picasso Limited Edition is made up of 6000 pocket lighters, 500 table lighters and 500 secret carriage clocks.
